Dental crowns and bridges
Dental crowns and bridges are a fixed solution for missing or damaged teeth. This restorative procedure uses prosthetic devices to return your smile to its natural state.
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped ”cap” that is placed over a tooth – to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. The role of the crown is to provide an aesthetic, phonetic and functional restoration that copies the natural look of the real tooth.
A dental bridge typically consist of two or more specially fitted crowns that are placed on the abutment or anchoring teeth on either side of the space formed by your missing tooth or teeth. Fixed bridges are strong and reliable and in most cases they feel and look very much like natural teeth. There are different designs and styles of bridges, but essentially they all use the teeth either side (or an implant) to hold a pontic (the false teeth that fill gaps between the abutment teeth,) in the gap to restore your smile and bite.
